My husband Chris and I had been thinking about remodeling our master
bedroom and bathroom for about five years. Our main concern was having a
person we could trust, and of course being able to afford it. After my sister
and her husband, Amy and Pauly Mead, remodeled their home, I knew Steve
was the contractor for us. He was always on time, on top of the
subcontractors, and did a remarkable job. Amy had nothing but good things
to say about Steve.
After talking to my husband, we decided to have Steve come out and bid the
job. We had no idea if what we wanted out of the bedroom and bathroom
would be possible. Steve came over, listened to us, and then measured the
rooms. He sat down with us and in less than an hour he had sketched out the
plans. The way Steve envisioned the room was incredible, as it was a very
difficult space.
We decided to completely gut the office behind our bedroom, our master
bedroom and bath, and extend the exterior of the house. Steve remodeled it
into a beautiful master suite! He told us the job would take between six to
eight weeks. During construction he noticed a leak in our downstairs living
room. He asked if we would like him to take a look at it. That little leak turned
into a major project, finding the leak from the roof in our ceiling, new drywall in
the living room and ceiling, partial new roof and gutters, and paint and trim.
So, with this new project and the complete remodel of half of the upstairs,
Steve was still within the time frame of completing the project.
All I can say is if Steve had not said anything or was not willing to go that extra
step, this winter would have been a disaster. Our roof might have collapsed
and the cost would have been enormous (or through the roof).
Working with Steve was a great experience. He is easy to talk to and full of
great ideas. He was here everyday and takes pride in whatever he does, you
can tell by the work he does. He exceeded all of our expectations, and was
right on; actually under budget because of the extra work we needed. We
cannot wait to have Steve back (hopefully the kitchen is in our future).
This was our first experience with remodeling and we are happy to say it was
a great one!

hallway with odd-sized, unfinished spaces into two large, warm,
updated bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom equipped with a
steam shower.
